Chapi league debut goal rush

Chapi Vets debut in the recently formed Sierra Vets League started with the visit of Burgohondo from the neighbouring province of Ávila.

Half-way through a low-key first-half saw Chapi trailing to a solitary opposing strike and things looked grim. However, for no apparent reason, all hell broke loose and goals flew in at both ends throughout the rest of the match.
So, at the final whistle, Chapi found themselves victors by 9-4 with usual suspects, baby-face Robert and Arthur on the score sheet plus others that have slipped my mind.

This week's micro-profile is our sturdy and stout goalkeeper, Pepe. In an interview lasting around ten seconds before the match, I was able to ascertain that he sells toilets and related paraphernalia. So, in the interests of feeble humour, Pepe thought early on on that we were down the pan and going down the plughole but ended up flushed with pride at our comeback. So we bathed in our glory and didn't sink into depression.

I missed the last game due to work commitments and snow, but tomorrow morning we are off again!
